Policies, Fees and General Info
Our goal at Lake Country Counselling is to provide a counselling service that is professional, comfortable, safe, and confidential for our clients.
Before initiating the first session our clients will be required to sign a Statement of Understanding which explains our services and policies with respect to confidentiality, fees & payment, and cancellation.
Confidentiality
We value your right to confidentiality which means that anything you say will be kept confidential with the following exceptions:
- You authorize your counsellor by signing a Release Form to provide or gain relevant information to someone else such as your doctor;
- There is a likelihood that a child, developmentally disabled person or dependant adult (elderly) is being abused;
- Your counsellor determines you are a danger to yourself or others;
- Your counsellor is ordered by a court to disclose information about you.
What Can You Expect
During your first counselling appointment, the counsellor will ask you a variety of questions concerning areas of your life to assist in developing a better understanding and appreciation of your concerns.
Although it sometimes feels like little progress is being made at this point, this process is necessary as it provides insight that is invaluable to the counselling process and the achievement of your goals. This is also an opportunity for you to get comfortable with your counsellor as you embark on your journey toward personal wholeness and relational intimacy.
Your Lake Country Counsellor will assist you in establishing your goals and help you form a strategy to reach them. You know yourself best; we respect that fact and affirm your right to be in control of your own process.
Sessions & Payment
Except for initial assessment, counselling sessions are 60 minutes in length. Clients are expected to arrive on time as scheduled, and the billing period begins at the scheduled time even if the client arrives late.
In the event a client is unable to attend their appointment, 24 hour notice is required. Failure to provide the notice will result in payment of the cancellation fee which is the same as the session fee. Consideration is taken for unexpected emergencies or sickness.
Payment is required immediately following each session and can be made by cash, credit card or cheque (payable to Heidi Maskell). A receipt will be issued.
Lake Country Counselling Services Rates
Individual-$75 per 60 minutes
Couples-$45 for Prepare/Enrich Inventory prior to first appt
Couples/Family-$85 per 60 minutes
Premarital Package - $300 for 5 60 minutes sessions
Seminars and Workshops- fees will vary per event
Group Therapy- fees vary
Should you have any questions or concerns surrounding our fee for services, please discuss them with the counsellor in advance, so we can make appropriate adjustments. It is the committment of Lake Country Counselling Services to assist you in getting the help you need.
